probably duvel, maredsous 8 and we're hoping to get some of the cave-aged stuff from brewery ommegang in cooperstown new yawk and probably something sweet to go with the Miel y Leche cupcakes that we'll be ending the night with.
These are all serious high alcohol beers and should not be drunk in the quantities with which I will be drinking them come the day after valentines.

gastro non grata is an event happening at the triple rock four times a year that involves a variety of great local bands and during tear down and set up we have a local chef who cooks two sample courses for the audience between the 2nd and 3rd band and a beer/wine/liquor person who pairs a libation with the food and a couple extra tastings throughout the show.
Also, there's a meat raffle.
And it's free.

Shaitan, I think outside of the last one it's not necessarily a for-profit enterprise, everyone works for near free and it's just kind of a promotional event we're everyone has like the best fucking night of the year.

thanks coach, you are correct this is a loss leader. Jeff and I front the cash, the chefs bring the food from their restaurants and the bands get drink tickets and some gas money.
Our last show, which was our 7th was the first time we barely broke even on our initial costs of doing the show.
All the donations and gastro merch money gets pooled to reinvest in making better shows down the road and hopefully sooner or later it will be a self-sustaining event.
That being said, we are looking for the right kind of sponsers, But we want to keep it small and keep it local. I know we're going to try to get together with Clancy's butcher shop to help out with the meat raffle just because they are an awesome butcher shop, or if any other enterprising community group wants to get involved, fine by us.
Word of mouth is just about all we can afford and we'll probably keep it that way. So if you do ever find yourself at a gastro Non Grata event, do yourselves a favor and when it's over and in the past, buy some of the beer we feature and visit the restaurants who are cooking on a day they normally take off. They're just regular folks too.

I just checked with the beep people and it looks like we're tasting Duvel - my favorite belgian golden ale, Maredsous 8 - A deep, rich witches brew, Cooperstown NY Cave Aged Ommegang Abbey ale and Chocolate Indulgence will be paired with a miel y leche espresso cupcake.
The beers will be available at the bar along with complimentary glassware with purchase of any of these fine brews.
