Not so big on Vile. Saw him open for Thurston Moore and was like, 'Meh.' Black Bananas will be super cool though.

have only seen him at the Entry twice and Varsity w/ Thurston.

i just hope he plays longer than 35-40 minutes. not asking for some 90 min set, but have come away feeling like i barely got a taste every time i've seen him now.

A solid contribution. I like them too but I'm curious about something. They seem to be the only band around described as "stonegaze" - one band doesn't make a genre. Are any other bands using this descriptor?

i actually thought it helped with the sound a bit and kept the chatter to the bar side... but that's just my .02
it is definitely a bit harder to move around now however.
was great to see a full 90 minute headlining set from Kurt finally. that said, while the solo stuff near the end was incredible, the full band stuff wasn't quite as great as previous shows i've seen him do. still loved it though. and I was drooling over that white jazzmaster with the gold pickguard.

the sound for them was really bad... vocals were especially buried. not sure they're totally my thing, but they were amusing to watch. the lead singer chick was a cross between Steven Tyler and Alison Mosshart. guitarist looked sorta like Zakk Wylde playing a snakeskin Nuno Bettencourt guitar (it was actually a Jackson tho).
and yeah, it was sort of like this one in the middle:

yeah its kinda weird that its a squire. his other signature model is a regular fender i think? i suppose its to have a more affordable option

yeah, looks like the regular purple Fender one is sold out most places as well.

piggy, was not familiar with Black Bananas prior to the show and never saw Royal Trux live, so had no frame of reference, sorry. it wasn't said as a diss, that's just who she reminded me of, regardless of how long she's been doing her thing.
regardless, they didn't really impress me too much live. the other two guys in the band might have well been behind a curtain honestly.

Black Bananas played in Missoula last night, and it was amazing. I stood next to Jennifer Herrema, but wasn't able to work up the Vedders to talk to her.
