crow with no mouth promotions is pleased to present three musicians working with reel-to-reel tape in an evening of composed and improvised music.
The first concert in the cwnm 2012 concert series brings together musicians who have focused for several years on using tape as a source of unabashedly beautiful sound; at times highly abstract, at others narrative-driven, Andree, Prayer and McLaughlin extend the tradition of tape collage, concrète, and intelligent ambient music.

"why not mentioned that this is actually in lowertown st. paul in the thread title?" [f/f]

.

Are Nathan and prayer not performing together as Loud & Sad on this evening? Regardless, great show!!
nope- as it says, 3 solo sets.
*prayer* is a distinct project of joe houpert; loud & sad are playing in your mankato studio in the afternoon of the 13th, correct?
i have the prayer/mclaughlin split cassette, that sealed the deal for booking prayer as well as mclaughlin. he is bringing his latest cassette release to the may 13 gig
andree met mclaughlin at the crow show last august [he's an art teacher at mcad]; he subsequently arranged to play with nathan, and gave me his cassette release.
for fans of william basinski, asher thal-nir, celer, eno, that area, with a little more sand and grain..

My friend, artist, Take Acre guitarist, and all around swell human, Jaron Childs, has created a poster for this event; an assist with how to add it here is appreciated.

maybe someone can do something with those letters up there?

just a bump, a reminder, and an invitation to those who didn't hit a crow show in 2011 to hear music in a venue with great respect for the musicians and the listener.
hope to see dustroyer, hot legs, bryce, phages, small doses and taiga return, and, crucial for the series, some new faces.
I'll be there for sure
yep me too
one more bump, hope to see some of you - fuck it, ALL of you! beautiful musicians.
yes!
also nice to see that you are hosting Bryan Eubanks later this summer
Love that guy, he did a lot of collaborations w/ Andrew Lafkas, who was essential in the early days of the Tuesday Series. Super talented, swell guy. ANdrew and him played w/ a percussionist in Brooklyn maybe 3-4 years ago and it totally blew my mind.

ps this concert will be a nice way to wind down from the May Day parade

all mothers, all sentient beings, welcome to 3 sets of beautiful noise, sunday night in the fine space of studio z.
